Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku, Tokyo | Travelspective

What’s on the agenda for tonight? Dinner and then a show? Or maybe you’re an entertainment first and a quick bite afterwards kinda traveler. Well, whoever you are, you’re in luck because Robot Restaurant, one of Tokyo’s more colorful attractions, doesn’t make its guests struggle with that age-old question. Rather, it combines both in a stroke of flashy brilliance. It’s a fun, funky atmosphere that bombards the senses with music, crazy characters and laser light shows. Throw in a healthy dose of alcoholic beverages and you’ve got yourself a good time. But if you’re looking for a plot line, this isn’t that type of show. It’s a vibrant Japanese circus come to life before your very eyes, and what you’re seeing is completely bat $?%@ awesome! Sit back, relax, and let the mayhem ensue. We can guarantee it’s totally worth it.

Yes. That was a mermaid riding a giant mechanical shark. Itching to go yet? We figured as much. Upon arrival there is plenty to look at, from the large robots guarding the door all the way down the mirrored staircase that ricochets lights from god knows where, to the snail chair covered lobby. School desk seating near the stage helps round out the ambiance in that it — Just kidding. Trying to figure this place out is like trying to count grains of sand in an hour glass: A waste of time. Just go in ready to take it all in and not really be able to explain to your friends exactly what it is you just witnessed.
